Precision Combustion, Inc. (PCI) has a great internship opportunity for a chemical engineer, mechanical engineer or chemistry student to provide computational modeling support for several of PCI’s ongoing research projects. We are seeking a self-driven and motivated individual who has experience in modeling aspects of catalytic or sorbent processes. Join our team and engage in interesting work that will provide a chance to learn while making important contributions to new technologies under development!

Responsibilities:

  • Help carry out modeling tasks related to aspects of catalytic or sorbent processes including reactor and transport modeling, reaction rate modeling, and process modeling.
  • Apply results of modeling to economic analysis

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will be high achievers working toward a bachelor’s degree (senior year students only please) or master’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent. In addition, qualified candidates must have a strong knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

  • Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD); FLUENT or COMSOL
  • Process modeling; ASPEN, SimSci or ChemCad
  • Elementary step reaction modeling; ChemKin

Experience with economic analysis and modeling is desirable.
