Catalyst Development Engineer
We have an exciting, hands-on position to be on the forefront of catalytic reactor development, focused on improved and novel approaches to fine and commodity chemical manufacturing and green technology, and also in support of PCI’s leading reformer and combustor products.
The successful candidate will advance development of catalysts and reactors for a wide range of hydrocarbon conversion processes. Primary responsibilities will include bench to small pilot scale catalyst synthesis, optimization of these methods for commercial production, characterization, and development of novel catalytic processes, and reactor technologies, formulations and coatings to advance catalyst science in a team environment. He/she will also support other engineers to improve performance, durability, and economics of current products and processes.
The following experience is required:
- Hands-on design and use of reactor systems and catalyst testing
- Experience with chemical reactors, particularly flow reactors
- Experience with high temperature materials durability
- Familiarity with catalyst synthesis and characterization techniques
- Experience with test equipment troubleshooting
- Experience with typical catalyst characterization and testing analytical laboratory equipment
- PhD or MS degree in Chemical Engineering or related fields with 5 yrs industry experience
Other experience desired, but not required:
- High-temperature systems and combustible gases
- Kinetics and/or thermodynamics modeling
- Use of process simulation software
