| Catalytic Burners and
Combustors PCI
has several very small to medium sized combustion products in development. Our methane
burner technology was developed under a NSF program with promising results including
flameless catalytic combustion of natural gas with CO<2 ppm, CH4<2 ppm and
NOx<0.3 ppm. We are developing JP-8 catalytic combustion capability as a
DARPA PalmPower
subcontractor and have demonstrated stable combustion with very high power density. |

13 kWt in a 3 in3
package |
| Independently,
we have demonstrated catalytic butane combustion with power densities of approximately 20
kWt per cubic inch. Potential applications include heat sources for
Stirling engines, Thermoelectric, Thermophotovoltaic (TPV) and Thermoionic generators. Additional
applications include liquid fueled microturbines, low NOx cook-top burners, industrial
process burners and portable heaters. |
